And here we go another new month, another post about the move and oh yeah the fact that I’m still moving.

So I may have pulled in backup to get this move thing over with. Ring, ring. “Hey mom can you come in town next weekend? Oh yeah and bring dad’s power drill…we’re going to need it”. Yup, I’m throwing in the towel and calling in the big guns. No not the power drill, my mom.

I’m not sure if it’s my indecisiveness that’s getting the best of me or the fact that when I get home from work I’d rather stare at the boxes while on the couch than actually move them from behind the couch.

If only you could hire movers that actually unpacked the boxes they moved too. Hold on let me grab my wine while I tell you where to hang that shirt and place that bath towel…now, wouldn’t that be something?

The reality of it is, I had a total “I need my mom moment”. You know that saying that mothers know best? It’s true. They really do know everything…like everything. And when your best friend of 20 years (hey there Amy Patterson) mistakes a picture of you for your mom, well then I guess you could say my mom not only knows everything but she always thinks and well, apparently looks like me too.

So it’s official my mom is coming in town next weekend after the holiday to kick this apartment in full gear and finally make it feel like home. Meanwhile while she’s working her magic on organizing, I’ll be over here crafting up some new things for the place. Here are my top home DIY projects to get started on.
