Happy Monday all! Sorry I missed my “Dash of Sparkle” post last week. With the jam packed weekend and holiday on Monday I figured I could take a little holiday from posting too.
But back at it this Monday! I wanted to start this week off with a quote I found that in an embarrassing way, I relate to more than ever recently. Before starting this blog I was never one to be too active on social media. I would check it here and there but was not one to voice my opinions or comment too much. I actually to this day have never had a Facebook status on my personal account. Crazy right? Who doesn’t state their thoughts or feelings on Facebook? Me..or well I used to not.
After starting this blog, I have definitely jumped on the social media bandwagon. I not only manage my personal Facebook page and the blog’s, my personal twitter, instagram and pinterest, but also my company’s six Facebook pages, six Twitter accounts and two instagram accounts…ay yi yi. Social media OVERLOAD!
While I am no expert by any means and am still learning every day how to balance all of my personal accounts when I get off work at night. I will say I have found my favorite outlet is by far instagram. I love how quick the response is and how easy it is to engage with others as well as discover new and amazing accounts.
As instagram is one of my favorites due to the quick interaction it is also one of the most stressful due to the quick unfollowing. One wrong photo and BAM there goes 5 followers…no joke! You work hard to build those followers and just like that you loose them.
For example, this Friday after work I went to the gym, stopped by Trader Joes and then came home ate and bummed around. Just an average boring Friday night that was much needed. Sure I could have regrammed a photo or posted an old one, but sometimes I just want to turn everything off and relax, that includes no social media. I refreshed my feed in the morning Saturday and just like that, BAM, 3 followers lost..seriously? Can’t a girl get a social media break here?
My point is nobody’s life is always social media “like” worthy, if it is then please share your tricks, but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter. There is no sense in worrying over posting the perfect picture at the perfect time to keep followers or posting a pretty pic when you’re just being a bum. Enjoy the day and live in the “not so insta-worthy” moment!

With so many social media outlets these days it’s hard not to get caught up in all of them. Find one outlet you really enjoy and focus your attention on that one. Don’t worry about the numbers of followers or likes, just be yourself and live in the moments with your followers!
