It’s Friday and I’m heading back to my college town for the weekend to catch up with old friends! Of course, not before sharing this post and knocking out a day of work at the office though. I have recently been contacted a lot about job advice, since as I mentioned before I used to look at jobs like speed dating. I got my foot in the door, found what I liked and some I didn’t and then moved on to the next one. I won’t say it was the most fun period of my life, but I definitely don’t regret a single moment of it.
When asking my best advice for reaching out about job opportunities, I tell people to be confident in their work and themselves. I used to e-mail people reaching out about jobs as if they would be silly not to hire me and while some did indeed find it silly with how many times I followed up, others found it appealing how confident I was that I knew I could do the job. I’m definitely not saying I’m the most confident girl, trust me I doubt myself more than any boss or co-worker ever has. However, what I am saying is don’t let your doubt overcome your confidence. I would always tell myself before an interview, “be confident, it’s the best you can be”. When The Radiant Collection from Always & Tampax contacted me about the Be Radiant Sweepstakes to help encourage young women to have confidence, I was in! Please see details below for how you can enter the sweepstakes.
Being confident internally is just as important externally. While in the office I always like to look professional so clients take me seriously, but I’m not much of a serious person so adding a touch of my own style is key. This jewel embellished top adds the perfect touch of style layered over my white blouse with navy dress pants. I do a lot of walking with public transportation so I find flats as my go to office shoe. I changed it up for an after work dinner with a friend by switching to dark wash jeans and my favorite Fall boots. I tucked in my purse strap to double as a clutch too.
