Is it fall or is it still summer? I can’t quite tell yet which season I should be dressing for, but I do know it’s football season. I’m not much of a football fan, but I love tailgating and an excuse to dress themed. I graduated from University of Missouri (Mizzou), where football season was what we lived for. A home game weekend was a weekend where it was acceptable to wear everything you own black and gold within 24 hours. It brought out some of the most creative and unique combinations of clothing I’ve ever seen. Anywhere from a skirt with a tiger tail to gold eyeliner and black statement necklaces. If you lived in a sorority house and had a good tailgating outfit, most likely your clothes were going to be borrowed for the next home game.
Football season made for some of my favorite memories during my time at Mizzou. From tailgating behind the stadium to waking up at the crack of down to get on TV during ESPN’s College GameDay, I greatly enjoyed this time of year. Now as an alumni I still love an excuse to be festive, even if I’m cheering from miles away. This past weekend I met up with a few friends at a local Mizzou bar for some gameday fun! I wore an old Mizzou shirt from college and paired it with a leather skirt and some gold studded heels for the perfect black and gold attire.
Shirt-old from Victoria Secret, but love the new one/
Bag(old, but love this one)
This is one of the best ideas! I have been wanting to get one of those fancy cheese boards but they are so expensive. Keep the awesome ideas coming 😀
Thanks Lauren! I know they can get very pricey, so this was a cheap solution plus there's leftover chalkboard paint to to last for many more DIY projects:) Stay tuned!
I can't believe those shoes are Forever 21. Great find!
