There’s strawberry pie and then there’s grandma’s strawberry pie.
Oh yeah, you know what I’m talking about. That kind of recipe that has been passed down through generations, is hand written on a notecard with water stains all over it and has measurements that are not completely accurate since grandmas usually just eye ball it.
Yup, this is one of those recipes. A recipe that is always a crowd pleaser and typically expected to be waiting on a silver platter when we visit my grandma’s house.
Only kidding. I wouldn’t expect her to make it every time bbuuttt every other doesn’t hurt;)
This pie is my absolute favorite summer dessert recipe and even after making it many and many of times myself, I still can’t seem to get it to taste as good as my grandma’s. Maybe it’s because last time she gave me a hand written recipe to make homemade hush puppies, they turned out as mush and when I asked her what I did wrong she replied “let me make them again and write down the measurements”.
I mean, duh…doesn’t everyone know every recipe off the back of their hand? Maybe it’s a skill you pick up when you hit grandmas status….I’ll take it!
Well not now, of course. Now, I’m going to end this post so I can go devour this pie!
Oh wait, one more thing! How adorable are these Whim bakeware dishes from the Martha Stewart Collection? Check out the full line available at Macy’s here.
