Excited to be kicking off a new series where I’ll be sharing a round up of items from my kitchen that I’ve been loving lately or ones that I’ve been eyeing to add to my kitchen lineup. Each month I’ll pick a theme to focus the items around and if there’s one thing my friends and family know about me (or if you’ve been following along for awhile you probably know as well) it’s that I love to bake. Anything. Everything. Any time of the week and anytime of the day -including midnight baking sessions. It’s my stress reliever, my happy place and my favorite thing to bring to a gathering. So when thinking of the first series’s theme it only made sense to theme it around nothing other than – baking.
No matter if you’re new to baking or are pastry chef level, proper baking tools and equipment are the key to a successful baked good. You don’t have to have the fanciest of tools, but some gadgets that seem useless can go such a long way with making your life easier – like the time I make homemade whipped cream with a hand whisk and then realized what a game changer a stand mixer is, lesson learned. It can also take your baked good to that next level. I’m excited to share some of my favorite baking items below. Each of these tools are must haves for your next baking adventure.
No. 1 OXO Good Grips Cookie Scoop – This cookie scoop has a wonderful handle grip that goes comfortably in your hand and holds against sticky dough. Using a cookie scoop is also a great way to keep all of your cookies consistent in size.
No. 2 KitchenAid Limited Edition Tilt-Head Stand Mixer – If I could only have one kitchen gadget it would be a stand mixer. It is a game changer in the kitchen and this one would be the pretty addition if you keep it out on your counter like I do. My one suggestion with a stand mixer is always go for the tilt head, it’s much easier to work with vs. popping your bowl out every time.
No. 3 West Elm White Textured Mixing Bowls, Assorted Set of 3 – These cute mixing bowls are dishwasher safe and are perfect for mixing. Great size variations and love the pour spout for when working with liquids.
No. 4 Sur La Table SilPat Baking Set – Silpats are a great way to evenly distribute heat when baking cookies and to prevent your baked goods from sticking to the pan. I use these every time I bake something on my sheet pan.
No. 5 Wilton 3-Tier Collapsible Cooking & Baking Cooling Rack – If you love baking cookies as much as I do, then you need this cooling rack. It fits up to 3 dozen cookies and is easily collapsible when you need to put it in storage.
No. 6 Sur La Table Soft Grip Sifter – When a recipe calls for sifted flour it’s important to not ignore it, it can make a big difference in the finished product. This sifter is easy and comfortable to use because of its soft grip handle.
No. 7 Williams Sonoma Stainless Steel French Whisk – This beautiful french whisk is made of stainless steels and is available in two sizes to accommodate your baking needs. The handle is perfectly crafted to fit your hand comfortably while you whisk away and it’s durable for heavy whisking.
No. 8 Williams Sonoma 3 Piece Cookie Baking Set – Someone recommended these baking sheets to me and I have now recommended them to everyone I know. They have strong durability and I never have any issue with items sticking to the sheet.
No. 9 J.K. Adams Dowel Rolling Pin – Love this simple rolling pin that gets your dough perfectly rolled out and is made up of hardwood material, you don’t have to worry about getting scratches on it.
We hope you enjoyed the first series post of my favorites of the month. What is one of your favorite baking items that you own?
