Gracias. Grazie. Merci. Thank you.
National Thank You Day is coming up tomorrow and after all the love and thoughtful words I have received this week I couldn’t think of a better time to share this post.
Whether it’s sweet words from a proposal announcement or a simple favor from a co-worker, saying thank you is one of the most important ways to show others appreciation. It’s a word that we commonly overlook when used too often and a word we can tend to forget when in the moment so I’m sharing 4 unique ways to say Thank You with merci.
With a name that literally means “thank you,†merci believes there is no better way of expressing heartfelt gratitude than with a gift that speaks for itself…”merci” stamped chocolates. And well, I couldn’t agree more. Through the heart shaped logo, brand name and quality chocolate, merci encourages gratitude every day of the year. Be sure to check out my top ways to show gratitude below!
Gift a box of meri chocolates.
Nothing quite says thank you like a box of chocolates that literally says “thank you”. Since 1965, merci has offered a thoughtful collection of rich, European chocolates made from the finest ingredients available and in eight unique flavors, including Milk Chocolate, Coffee and Cream, Hazelnut-Almond (my fav!), Hazelnut-Crème, Marzipan, Dark Cream, Dark Mousse and Praline-Crème. The perfect treat for chocolate lovers and the perfect gift for expressing gratitude to friends, family and loved ones. Try leaving a box for your mailman to find or a few on your co-workers desk after a long day.
Share it on social media.
Now I normally don’t support sharing everything on social media since I usually try to live in the moment but in this case, this is the perfect way to show someone your gratitude. Whether you write a post calling out their good deed or share a similar story that reminds you of them and thanks them for everything they have done for you. Sometimes publicly announcing things are the best way to show how grateful you are of that person.
Do it as a surprise.
Some people refuse to accept thank you gifts or cards as they feel they don’t deserve them but in reality you know they deserve that and more. So next time you’re at the coffee shop with that person or grabbing a drink after work, jump in line and pick up their bill or call a cab for them when they’re running late after work and offer to pay for it.
Put some thought into it.
Everyone can write a thank you card with a generic message inside, but taking the time to thoroughly write out each thank you or create a little gift basket that personally relates to that person is much more meaningful. A trick I always do when writing multiple thank you cards is put them in the envelope immediately after writing and seal the envelope shut so I can’t look back at what I wrote on the last person’s card. This helps me make each card unique and more meaningful to that person:)
Also if you’re looking for a fun way to celebrate National Thank You Day on Thursday, September 15 and live in the New York Area, be sure to stop by merci’s Thank You Wall in Columbus Circle where they will be handing out delicious merci chocolates to those who post a thank you note on the brand’s life-size “Thank You Wall”. And for those not in the New York area you can still get in on the fun by sharing how you show gratitude on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #givemerci.
