Champagne Poppers
The holiday weekend is almost here, time to get ready for the fireworks! For 4th of July, I usually go to a friend’s BBQ or lake house to celebrate with fireworks and good food. I always bring a dessert (this year’s recipe coming next week) and a small gift for the hostess to thank them. This year I decided to add a special touch for my hostess’s gift! I decked out some mini champagne bottles with firework toppers and a festive label. Hope you enjoy!

Materials:

  • mini champagne bottle
  • tissue paper (2 colors)
  • toothpick
  • glitter ribbon
  • printable label

Step 1: Print Label

Print this free bottle label here. The printable includes three label options, including one blank to get creative and write your own saying:) I printed mine on sticker paper that I picked up from Office Max, so I could stick it straight on, but you can also glue it if you don’t want to get sticker paper.

Step 2: Make Firecracker topper

-Cut two small rectangles, one of each color
-Line the tissue paper on top of each other and fold in half (horizontally)
-While holding the paper in one hand, cut small strips down the paper leaving a small ledge to keep them held together (picture below)
-Once completely cut, place the toothpick on one end of the uncut corner and roll the tissue paper around the toothpick
-After completely rolled, tape down the end to hold it together

Step 3: Assemble Bottle

-Cut the excess part of the toothpick off, so no toothpick is showing
-Using a hot glue gun, glue the topper onto the top of the bottle (shown below)
-Take a piece of ribbon and wrap it around the neck of the bottle for extra sparkle!
– Stick or glue the printed label on the front of the bottle for the finishing touch

Enjoy the fireworks!
