My Favorite Christmas Cookies – Recipe Roundup

Happy national eat as many cookies as your heart desires day! Better known as Christmas Eve.

When it comes to the holidays, there are no limits on sweets. After all, it is the only time of year when everyone puts their best foot forward in making my absolute favorite dessert…cookies that is.

There’s thick ones. Chewy ones. Ones with chocolate. Ones with mint and ones nobody has a clue what is in them, but they try them anyways. The possibilities are endless when it comes to these little gooey discs of happiness and my hands and mind have absolutely zero self-control when it comes to trying them all. So I figured it was only fair to share with you my absolute favorite Christmas cookie recipes that I have discovered over the years and baked up with my family and friend, but before we get to the good stuff (if you haven’t peeked already) I wanted to share a few of my top cookie tips that I’ve learned over the years.

Cookie Tips:

  1. Always refrigerate your dough before baking. Ideally over night, if not 1-2 hours works too.
  2. Don’t over mix the dough or over beat the butter.
  3. Gather your ingredients ahead of time as you don’t want to run out or have to substitute something that could completely alter your end result.
  4. Ingredients matter, make sure to use the right type of flour and the better grade butter and eggs. My go-to when it comes to cookies are Nellie’s Certified Humane, Free Range, B Corp eggs. These eggs make for the best addition to my cookies.
  5. Weigh your flour, if you don’t have a scale. Lightly spoon your flour into a measuring cup and using a knife scrap off the excess. Never scoop flour directly out of the bag with the measuring cup as it will compact the flour giving you a drier cookie in the end.
  6. Surround yourself with family, friends and good Christmas tunes as the best cookies are made with memories and loved ones:)

Now time for some drool worthy photos and recipes. Enjoy!
