Thankful for..
Less than a week until you can eat all the turkey and pumpkin pie your heart desires while washing it down with a glass..or 4 of wine. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, it’s like Christmas minus all the stress and hustle and bustle. This week I attended an art expression class at Rooted Chicago, where we talked about what the holidays mean to us. Thanksgiving to me, means time with my family where everyone gets together, eats until their buttons pop off and then watches football until they fall asleep. Every year I look forward to the same traditions of Thanksgiving; staying up all night the night before helping my mom cook, waking up early and watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in my pjs and then having all my relatives over to celebrate and feast. Before dinner one thing that we have always done is go around the table and say what we are “thankful for” that year. It’s a family tradition that we’ve done ever since I was little and that I plan to carry on one day when I host my own Thanksgiving.

While we usually go around the table and all say what we are thankful for, this year I decided to switch things up a little with these cute DIY straw flags. You can print them for yourself here! I printed mine on brown cardstock and folded them in half around the straws and sealed with glue. Another simple way to remind yourself throughout the evening, the wonderful things that you are thankful for this year:)

I have so many people and opportunities I have met/had this year to be thankful for, as well as being able to celebrate this holiday at home with all my loved ones! What are you thankful for?
